Growing From Our Acworth Roots Since 1995

The Dreamscapes was founded in 1995 out of the owner's home in Acworth, GA. What began as a local landscape company has grown into a design, build, and maintenance team working on landscapes throughout Northwest Georgia and the greater Atlanta area. We are still based in Acworth, and the same interest in plants, construction, outdoor spaces, and the craft of landscaping continues to shape the way we work today.

We have always believed that good landscape work should be personal. Every property has its own terrain, architecture, drainage, sunlight, mature plants, and history, and every homeowner uses the outdoors differently. Some clients want a lawn and landscape that are easier to care for. Others are planning a new patio, retaining wall, garden, outdoor living area, or a complete redesign. Our job is to understand the property first and then determine what belongs there.

Design, Build and Maintain Means We See the Whole Life of a Landscape

The words Design, Build and Maintain describe more than the services we offer. They also explain how our team learns. We design landscapes, install them, and continue caring for many of those same properties for years afterward. That gives us the opportunity to see how a landscape matures instead of only seeing how it looks on installation day.

Our installation and maintenance departments continually learn from one another. Maintaining landscapes we have built shows us which plants perform well in particular locations, how they respond as they mature, what care they require, and how decisions made during design and installation affect the property years later. That experience comes back into future landscape design, landscaping, installation, and maintenance work.

That same connection extends across the rest of the property. Our work includes lawn care and lawn maintenance, landscape maintenance, hardscaping with pavers and retaining walls, landscape lighting, and artificial grass. These services have dedicated pages of their own; here, what matters is that our team understands how the different parts of a property affect one another.

The Best Landscape Practices Come From Continuing to Learn

From the beginning, The Dreamscapes' goal has been to improve the way we design, install, and care for landscapes rather than simply repeat the same methods from property to property. Our team continues its education in horticulture, plant care, installation practices, turf, soils, and the other details that affect how a landscape performs in Georgia conditions.

We also work with the University of Georgia Extension when horticultural questions and new challenges arise. That relationship supports something we have learned through decades of maintaining landscapes ourselves: plants cannot be treated as decoration alone. Soil, water, sunlight, mature plant size, pruning, turf conditions, and ongoing care all influence whether a landscape continues to look good after the original installation is finished.

Landscape Design Is Our Art

Landscape design is the creative side of what we do, but a beautiful plan still has to work in the real world. We look at the home, the natural terrain, existing trees and plants, grades, views, traffic through the property, and the scale of the features we are designing. The goal is to create a landscape that feels connected to the house and to the land rather than a collection of unrelated features.

We enjoy projects that make us think. A difficult slope, an awkward backyard, a mature landscape that has outgrown its original plan, or a property that needs several different uses can lead to some of the most interesting designs. A yard may need places for family and friends to meet, play, swim, cook, eat, garden, or simply sit outside. We design around those real uses while considering what the landscape will become as plants grow and materials age.

Our design philosophy has long centered on three ideas: strength, beauty, and purpose. A retaining wall needs to hold the grade, but it should also belong in the landscape. A patio needs enough room to be comfortable before its pattern or color matters. Plantings should be beautiful, but they also need appropriate soil, light, space, and care. We think the strongest landscapes are the ones where those practical and creative decisions support each other.

Landscaping and Lawn Care for Northwest Georgia

From our home base in Acworth, The Dreamscapes provides lawn care, lawn maintenance, landscaping, and landscape maintenance in communities including Kennesaw, Powder Springs, Marietta, Woodstock, and Dallas. Working repeatedly in these areas has given our team firsthand experience with North Georgia lawns, clay soils, slopes, drainage challenges, established neighborhoods, and the seasonal changes that affect local landscapes.

Our larger landscape design and hardscaping projects also take us throughout the Atlanta area, including Atlanta, Vinings, Smyrna, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Douglasville, Rockmart, Rome, and Taylorsville. The scope of work varies by location and property, but the approach remains the same: understand what is already there, determine what the property needs, and build a plan around the people who will use it.

A Landscape Should Get Better With Time

One of the advantages of staying involved with properties after they are built is that we get to see what happens next. Trees establish, shrubs fill out, lawns respond to changing conditions, hardscapes settle into the landscape, and homeowners begin using spaces in ways that are sometimes different from what anyone expected on paper. Those years of observation have become part of how The Dreamscapes designs and works today.

We want a finished project to look good when the work is complete, but we also think about what it will require in the years ahead. That means considering plant maturity, maintenance needs, drainage, access, materials, and how the different parts of the landscape will continue to work together. It is the difference between creating something for installation day and creating a landscape meant to be lived in.
